With the QLD flooding which happened on 11/1/2011 & all the rest that followed soon after in northern NSW & VIC. It has made me think more about what is more important in our lives today.

With so many families, homes & communities affected by these floods it's hard to not see how reliant we are on modern society. Transport, utilities & most importantly FOOD & WATER.

When things like this devastate our country to this degree, it's not just the hippies or the yuppies that we look to but also forefathers. How they got by & lived. How they raised their children & how little they had compared to what we have today. Yet they managed to live long & healthy lives....

Simple things such as Fruits & Veggies, Water & Power etc....

We seem to take these little things for granted & don't realise that there are many ways to live more simple & sustainably YET still being connected with modern technology.

We can all do simple things or change to live a more sustainable way of life. It's all about the way we think & the way we see things in life & the world around us today.

It's not just for your future or mine but more importantly our children, our grandchildren & their children. What we do today can make a dramatic difference in the way they live tomorrow. What we teach them will make their future, so isn't it important that we show them & teach them so that they can understand & learn how to look after themselves & "Mother Earth"?

I'll be posting once or twice each month if not more on simple things we can do.
It's not just about reusing, reducing & recycling but how we live as a community & country together as ONE.

Things such as:
Building sustainably
Building a garden that is self-sufficient
Growing our own fruit trees, herbs & veggies
How to make your own basic everyday products such as jams etc

Oppsie daisy, me bad!

I haven't been on my blog for awhile to post. You just get caught up in life's little challenges that I have forgotten to blog in a while.

So sorry everyone.

With the Silly Season now upon us it's no wonder we get all caught up. With Christmas Shopping & Back to School being arranged. Some kids are going into a higher level & others will be their first year at school. Scary but exciting.

I have my 7yr old moving up to Year 2 & my 5yr old starting Prep this year so arranging uniforms & new shoes, school bag & books etc OMG it doesn't leave much time for much else.

I hope you have ALL had a lovely Christmas with friends & family & wish ALL my Customers Followers & Friends a very joyous yet SAFE New Year....

Our Family Tadpoles & Frogs

Welcome to our family's journey discovery & raising frogs.

I hope you enjoy it.

Well, last year during the floods, which I have posted on my blog about months ago. We found loads of tadpoles at the back of my son's school yard.

Even while the rain pouring down on us, we all were out there catching them with a log fishing net & popped them into, what we could find at the time, being my son's lunch box.

Once we got home, we cleaned the water out & added fresh water for them & then popped them all into a small fish tank we had.

At first, we had no idea what we had, if they were frogs or toads. So we did a lot of research on the net to try & find out what we had.
With all our fingers crossed, we hoped for frogs & GUESS what! They were ALL froggies. WOOHOO.

So then, we had to work out what in the world we were going to feed these poor little things. We went back to where we got them & grabbed some of the leaf litter in the water that had grown algae & we placed it in the tank. They ate it but soon it was all gone (the algae) so we did more research to find out what else they eat & any bread was just as good. So we started to feed them some bread once a week.

Soon enough their back little legs appeared & it was so exciting to see them swimming around with some sort of frog like form. Then their front legs popped out "oh oh look mummy & daddy" my kids would call us to show us. We had placed the tank in their room so they could watch how they grew.
Wow now they had all 4 legs & started to look much more like frogs. They were so cute to watch & we spent ages staring at the tank & watching them all swimming around.

We then started thinking well what happens to their tail? Does it just fall off in the water?

So off we went back to the net to find out more & we found out that they don't fall off at all but in fact, once they start to come out of the water they will no longer eat the bread & need to still do their final growing internally to be able to eat bugs. In fact, their tails is what they use as sustenance as it shrinks & gets absorbed into their bodies & used as food & energy until such time that they are able to start eating bugs.

WOW we couldn't believe it! We had no idea about all of this.

Then we started thinking how are they going to get out of water & when do we know they are ready to do so?
We placed a few rocks around in the tank but we had to watch them as the silly things got trapped & we ended up losing a few of them.
Anyway, we noticed that they started to climb up onto the side glass of the tank & also up onto the rocks & made their way to the top half of the tank. OWWWWW it was so sweet to see them changing to this stage.

Day by day, their tails got shorter & within a few weeks their tails had gone. YAY, they look like frog now!
They just hadn't changed color much as yet. They had a slight brown to clear tan color to them still.

Once their tails had all gone & been totally absorbed into their bodies they started to look a lot more like the cute little frogs we know. as you can see below.

We had to start adding live plants & logs in the tank for them to go & hide in.

We got small pots & filled them up with some dirt & topped with a few small pebbles. We then added the plants that we found around our garden. We also had to add just the cut offs from plants such as leaves that were larger & couldn't grow in the tank. These leaves we have to change every for weeks depending when they die off & we just replace them with new & fresh leaves.

The one huge thing we started to notice though, was that we ended up with a few different types of frogs. Even though they were all the same size roughly to start off with as tadpoles, we soon noticed that some were growing much quicker & larger then some of the others.

So you can clearly see there are a few different types of Green Tree Frogs. We now have a total of about 8 different types of frogs all together!
I'll be taking more pictures in the coming days of the other types we also have & will do another update. PLUS will let you all know how my SECOND batch of tadpoles are going but so far they are already hopping out of the water hehehehe so cute!

10 TOXINS & HOW to Protect your family

Hi everyone,

Here are some toxins that i have found that are harmful or deadly. Here are the top 10 & how to protect your family.

Lead - potent neurotoxin that can cause brain damage, even in low doses.

Although it was taken out of gasoline three decades ago, it's still found in many homes, especially those built before 1978....When renovating an older home, use only contractors who are trained in lead-safe work practices. If you do the work yourself, consider taking a one-day class in lead safety.

Phthalates - these chemicals, often used to soften plastics, can interfere with the hormone system.

When possible, choose products labeled as phthalate-free or PVC-free. Some hospitals are switching to phthalate-free products, especially in their neonatal intensive care units. Avoid bottles marked with the #3 recycling code.

Tobacco - Its smoke can contain up to 4,0000 chemicals, including cadmium, lead and formaldehyde.

Don't smoke or allow anyone to smoke near your family.

Pesticides - poisons intended to kill weeds, fungi, insects and small animals.

Wash your produce...Don't use insect sprays in the home or on your pets. Take off your shoes when entering the home to avoid tracking in pesticides...When possible, buy food that is organic or locally grown, because the U.S. has stricter pesticide laws than many other regions.

Mercury - potent neurotoxin.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, pregnant women and children should completely avoid high-mercury fish: shark, swordfish, king mackerel and tilefish.

Radon - a naturally-occurring, radioactive gas that's the second-leading cause of lung cancer (behind tobacco.)

Test your home for radon or have an inspection by a radon specialist. Professionals can seal a home's foundation, if needed.

Cadmium - heavy metal linked to cancer, kidney damage and bone damage.

Check product recalls from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which has recalled thousands of pieces of cadmium-tainted products. The commission's chairman, Inis Tenenbaum, advises parents to think carefully before buying low-cost children's jewelry.

Arsenic - common wood preservative that was banned from playgrounds in 2004 but can be found at older ones as well as on fences and decks.

Leave your shoes at the door to avoid tracking it in and wash your hands frequently.

Volatile organic compounds - chemical fumes produced by paints , solvents or cleaning products that are linked to health problems such as asthma.

Open the windows at least once a day, when possible...Choose low-VOC paints. Reduce use of chemical cleaning products in favor of homemade, green cleaning products such as vinegar and baking soda.

Bisphenol A - estrogen-like ingredient often found in clean, hard plastics, the lining of metal cans and slippery paper receipts. It's associated in animal studies with genital birth abnormalities and breast cancer.

Choose BPA-free products. Instead of liquid formula, use powdered formula, whose can't aren't lined with BPA, according to the Environmental Working Group. Choose fresh produce or dried beans, rather than canned.

Hi Readers,

I found this information & link only a few days ago on the net & to be honest with you, I'M DISGUSTED! Our poor children are suffering already & yet some people feel the need to keep pumping them with un-necessary ingredients in their foods & drinks!

I do everything i can to eliminate these toxins from my kids diets & in their body care as you know, with the products i sell. Then you come across this & it is very disturbing.... well it is to me. The worst thing is that they DO NOT list these awful ingredients when you go & buy these products so how are we to know? mmmmm I think this is where the governments should step in & make the changes to help our kids.

Today I only have one child at home & omg it's proving to be even harder than having all 3 of them at home. LOL I think this may be due to the fact that they may fight with each other all day long BUT at least they keep themselves entertained while I get some work done. Good Afternoon Everyone,

I want to firstly say sorry for not being able to get on here more often to post updates or let you know what we have been up to. I have no excuse only that i have been so busy with working on new products & updating my website & well with 3 kids it does get a bit hectic at times.

This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well.

No plastic containers in microwave.

No water bottles in freezer.

"Here your better using Stainless Bottles like the ones i have listed on my website which DO NOT contain BPA in the manufacturing of these bottles. Their lids are also BPA Free."

No plastic wrap in microwave.

A dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer.

Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic

Bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently, Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital ,

Was on a TV program to explain this health hazard.

He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.

He said that we should not be heating our food in the

Microwave using plastic containers...

This especially applies to foods that contain fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin

Into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body...

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic

Containers for heating food... You get the same results, only without the dioxin.

So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc.,

Should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper.

It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.
He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away

From the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons...

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when

Placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high

Heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.

Cover food with a paper towel instead.

"Here i would cover them with a GLASS dish or plate rather than anything else. This is what i do at all times.
I also never reheat anything in plastic bowls cups etc"

Bottled water in your car

Very dangerous.

This is how Sheryl Crow got breast cancer. She was on the Ellen show and said this same exact thing. This has been identified as the most common cause of the high levels in breast cancer, especially in Australia .

A friend whose mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and the Doctor told her: women should not drink bottled water that has been left in a car.

The doctor said that the heat and the plastic of the bottle have certain chemicals that can lead to breast cancer. So please be careful and do not drink bottled water that has been left in a car, and, pass this on to all the women in your life. This information is the kind we need to know and be aware and just might save us! The heat causes toxins from the plastic to leak into the water and they have found these toxins in breast tissue. Use a stainless steel Canteen or a glass bottle when you can!

The above info on Sheryl Crow i personally would think came from a number of factors NOT just the water bottle which was sitting in a car."

This brand of products have finally come out to say what many of us already had a suspicion about & they have now been SUED!

They have been selling their products stating that they do not contain SLS aka sodium Lauryl Sulphate when in fact this WHOLE time they HAVE had this NASTY chemical in their products.

I really feel for the people who have been deceived by them this whole time.

The most disturbing fact is that the most effected products are the Baby Range.

If you use or have been wanting to use their product then i suggest you think again!

If you do not want to be using products with this ingredient in them then think again!

If you thought you could trust this brand, think again!

mmmm no wonder their products were SO CHEAP!

Here is exactly what you will find now on the correction notice that comes as a pop up on the Natural Instinct website (if your pop up blocker doesn't get to it first as mine did).

Non-compliant labelling and misleading claims

Following an investigation by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (the ACCC), Natural Instinct has acknowledged that it may have breached sections 52, 53(a), 55 and 65D of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (the Act) in the labelling of some of its products and in brochures distributed by Natural Instinct.

Until on or about 30 June 2008:

Natural Instinct did not include sodium laureth sulphate (plant derived), cocamide DEA, cetrimonium chloride and citric acid as ingredients on the labels of the products listed in Table A, as required by the Trade Practices (Consumer Product Information Standards) (Cosmetic) Regulations 1991 (the Standard).

As i also have been giving these to all my customers who order off my until Christmas i decided to have them all look the same.

How excited have i been! This is my very first MEDIA feature & i think it looks quite good.

I received a phone call from the editor of Noosa News early last late last week & was was given an interview over the phone. I then received another call the following day by their photographer to make a time to meet me. The only place close enough for the both of us was on the Saturday morning at the Pomona Markets where i have a stall every 2nd & 4th Saturday of the month.

So he turned up, took the picture. The issue of the Noosa News came out on Tuesday the 31/ November 2009 & i'm on page 16 in the Business Extra section.

Please be aware though that the editor made a few errors. I'm not the owner of the cheeki BPA Free Bottles.

I have received MANY calls from locals & a few orders as well so all in all it was a very good first media feature.

SLS AKA Sodium Lauryl Sulphate can also be spelt Sodium Lauryl Sulfate like for example in Canada.

There are other names which are used & have the same or similar effects:

Sodium Laureth Sulphate

Can cause or promote acne;skin, eye or lung irritation; may contain trace amounts of ethylene oxide or dioxide.

This ingredient is Petroleum derived!

Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate
This ingredient is exactly the same as Sodium Lauryl Sulphate.
This ingredient is Petroleum derived!

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Skin & eye irritation; suspected liver toxicity; can cause or promote acne; penetrates skin and accumulates in the vital organs; eczema; toxic to aquatic organisms
This ingredient may be Petroleum derived!

Thes ingredients are being used in almost all our everyday products such as toothpaste, shampoos, dishwashing liquids, & shockingly also in our kids BABY BATH WASHES etc.....plus almost every product.

Be aware that this ingredient is also in the Enjo Cleaning products that they have recently joined forces with. Now why would you, if your promoting Healthy cleaning products & cloths etc why would you join forces & sell products which are made in Canada & that contain SLS in them? I have had many clients comment on this & in fact have now stopped buying their products for this reason.
To Canadian standards SLS is not known to have any affects to humans. mmmmmm & so have added into all their cleaning products. SO if you ask me why have they hidden the face that it's in their products????? Makes you wonder.

This is one thing WE at Pure Earth Noosa do not have in any of the products that i sell!

Tip for this week - Does your kids break their crayons? have many different bits left at the bottom of the pencil case?

WELL here is something you can do to re-use them & Save some money as well.

Both you & your kids will LOVE this one!

Get yourself a mold of any kind as long as your child's little fingers can hold them.

Heat some water in a pan over a stove & place a Stainless bowl on the top with all the different bits of crayons in it.

Stir with an old wooden spoon.

Once they are melted pour into the molds.

The History of Soy Wax

Soy Wax is quite a recent invention. It was only in 1991, when Michael Richards, when looking for a cheaper alternative for beewax, that he developed soy wax. There was a big demand for Natural wax candles, but beeswax was about 10 times more expensive than paraffin. As he entered the candle industry with beeswax products he realized there was a growing demand for natural wax candles. Michael Richard tested different natural plant waxes and finally ended up with a vegetable wax which was made with partially hydrogenated soy oil, coconut oil and palm oil. He also blended beeswax with soy wax to make an economical natural wax candle.

EcoSoyaTM soy waxes are created with pure, 100% soybeans. Some of our waxes are then enhanced with carefully selected botanical oils. EcoSoyaTM waxes are non-petroleum renewable resources, promoting the growth and care of our environment while burning crisp and clean with a gentle natural glow. The Making of Soy Wax
Soy Wax commences with soybeans from which the oil is separated. This oil is then purified to give pristine soybean oil which then goes through a process called hydrogenation turning it into a sollid. Unlike other vegetable or soy waxes on the market, EcoSoyaTM waxes are 100% vegetable , guaranteed! There are no beeswax or petroleum products hidden in it.

Advantages of Soy Candles

Soy candles have the following advantages compared to paraffin wax candles:

Soy candles are cheap - Beeswax is a great natural alternative to paraffin, BUT to get the same results as a soy-based candle, it is very expensive. Soy wax is a new alternative to paraffin wax that is cost effective PLUS Soy wax is also made from a renewable source.

Soy wax is all-natural - soy wax is a favorite of environmentally conscious people because it is not made from petroleum, like paraffin candles are. Burning of soy candles doesn't increase the CO2 level in the atmosphere.

Soy candles last longer - They can last up to 50% longer than paraffin candles.

Wax spills are easy to clean - It's very difficult to remove paraffin wax from furniture or textiles. Soy wax spills can easily be cleaned up with a little warm soapy water & cloth.

Soy candles produce less soot - Soot should be avoided because it is very unhealthy and can eventually coat furniture and walls. Soy candles produce about 90% less soot than paraffin candles do.

Well if you don't know what SLS stands for or what it does then you need to keep reading this post.

I have found a company which has been very dishonest to it's loyal customers & it was VERY shocking to hear about this past weekend.

Update in the next few days keep your eyes opened to this space....

OK well i have been asked quite a bit on who the company is. Well seeing i don't want to get into trouble but have to warn people of their lies i have decided that i will leave a few hints & then you can make your own choices. You can have a look next time your out & you will then pick it up yourself.

Hint #1
The company uses White bottles & have either Blue or Black writing not quite sure which.

Hint #2
They have advertised in almost every magazine there is out there...mmmmm makes you wonder.

Hint #3
They are in all chemists & Health Food Stores - The chemists haven't really cared as long as they sell & why would they? Chemists sell drugs & chemicals anyway right? mmmmm
BUT the Health food store are already starting to see the decline in the sales of their products & so will no longer be wanted in their stores as they usually don't like having products in their stores with SLS in them.

OK so with this information I'M SO sure you will work it out or at least see them there & once you pick the products up you'll read the new stuck on replacement labels on them.

It is sad though to think that they can do this to people who have but trust in them & their products....
A real Shame!

INTRO

Well a few weeks ago i attended the Connect 2 mums seminar on the Gold Coast & it truly was a weekend that i'll never forget.......

Paula, your such an inspiration & motivator! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I also thank you for putting such a wonderful event together & giving me the opportunity to meet such brilliant WOMAN such as yourself. Yes it was also great to have everyone pop out of the square box in which we have all been chat to for awhile now. ROFL

The Seminar:

People who know me, know that I'm not the type person to get up in front of a large crowd of people to speak. With Paula's help & all the other lovely members that attended the seminar at the Gold Coast, i was able to get up & face my fears. What a nerves wreak i was. My hands & feet were so sweaty that when it was my turn to get up i almost face planted it LOL yes some may not have noticed this but the sweat in my shoes almost made me land flat on my face. with a slight slip & stagger i made it to the front of the room.

To be honest with you i can not remember much of what i said as it turned out to be a bit of a blur. Finally it was over & i quickly got back to my chair to hide behind my folder.

It may have be so daunting for me but without the help of Paula & the others to give me that push or boost of confidence i may have never have done it. So having said this, thank you to you all. I over came a fear & can now move a forward in my business.

mmm what else did we get up to at the seminar?.....

There was a few wonderful speaker with so much motivating & inspirational information to share. There also was speakers & workshops with a lot of business related knowledge & information to help with all aspects of your business to share with us all.

Does ALL your recycling really get recycled?

Did you know that even if you place your recycling into a biodegradable plastic bag & then through it into your recycle big it may not all get recycled at all?????
Well it's true!

WHY?
Well there are 2 reasons:

The first reason is that all the rubbish goes onto a conveyor belt & the staff at the recycling plant pick through the rubbish taking out anything that isn't recyclable. When a bag goes past that they can't see what is on the inside it gets pulled off the conveyor belt & placed into the normal rubbish pile.

And the second reason is that the bags get pulled off the conveyor belt is that the plastic bags get court up in the machinery & cause it to malfunction & break down cost time & money.

SOLUTION!

Well there is an easy way to solve this. Collect your recycling as normal & if you do use a plastic bag to hold it in, just empty the contents in your recycle bin so that it is all loose material.

How Cool is that! I have already been in contact with my little prep boy's school to inform them of this & to raise my hand to help out.

All Primary schools can apply to the Australian Government for grants of to $60,000 to fund infrastructure for the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden National Program.

The grants provide funding for the development of a productive vegetable garden & for the construction of a home-style kitchen on the school grounds.

They are so delicious! There are 50 different scents & flavors to choose from. the only problem is deciding which ones. Good Luck! LOL I had trouble deciding which one to burn first, but i'm extremely happy with my choice!

My YUMMY Sweet Potato Cake
(same can be used to make Banana or Carrot)

Pre-Heat Oven to 180c for a fan forced oven
Butter your tin & coat with flour for easy extraction.

Ingredients
2 Cups of grated Sweet Potato, Banana or Carrot
125grams of Unsalted Butter
3/4 Cup of Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Cups of Self Raising Flour
1/2 teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda
2 Tablespoons of Milk

Method
Cream the Butter & Sugar together & then add the Eggs & the Milk.
Sift the Flour & Bicarb into the mixture & then
fold in the Sweet Potato (Banana or Carrot)

Cooking time
30 mins - 45 mins

Depending on your oven & the main ingredient.
Push lightly on the cake & if it springs back up it's cooked
or you can stick a knife in the center & pull it out. If the knife is clean
then it's cooked if not just leave it in for a little longer.

Allow it to cool slightly before you take it out of the tin. Depending on
the Main ingredient used you can also make the icing for it.
I like to make Vanilla Icing as everyone tends to like it.

For Vanilla Icing
2 drops of Vanilla Essence
2 Tablespoons of Butter
1 Cup of Icing Sugar

Method
Cream the sugar & Butter together then add the Vanilla Essence

Floods at Cooran

I thought i'd share with you what we had to deal with just recently after receiving plenty of rain in in a matter of a few days. LOL Lots of fun & swimming! Plus Hubby gets his gorgeous face in the paper.

Well where we are there are quite a few one way bridges or just bridges in general. When we receive plenty of rain in a short period of time well, lets just say the kids come out & play. Where we live, we are in the middle of 2 or 3 different bridges which ALWAYS flood. They don't take long & we get cut off.

It is so surreal when you see just how much water we get & that where there is meant to be a road, park & bridge that you just can't see them anymore. On a few occasions we had cars float away, stuck or under water.

RIP to the elderly lady that was swept away in her car & drowned.

On the last occasion we had the local news, helicopters flying above & SES everywhere. A few of the local schools had students stuck at school for a few nights as they could not get home nor could parents get to them. I bet they had lots of fun!

We (our Family & a few others surrounding us) get cut off from the little local store up the road.

Hubby usually never lets that get in the way. He was out with the older kids (NOT MINE, my kids got trapped out of Cooran & had to stay at poppy's) swimming & playing around in the water. At one point they managed to cross to the other side & that's when they got their pictures taken & got on the local papers & news channels. He thought he was a star!

It's hard to see in the pictures but where you see a glimpse of a bridge the water has risen over the bridge & where you see a field well that's it, it was a field with cows & a road which went down the middle. This you can't see anymore just water & in another picture you see a huge river well that's a road & the water is going against it like a T section. Right at the back of that same picture is where the bridge is & it has over flowed from. The width of the river from under the bridge has now gone well over the bridge & has become 10 times wider if not more. Both pictures are taken from both each side of our street blocking us in.

Lovely Morning

Introducing Jasmine or Jazzy as we call her, Andre my 3yr old boy, my 5yr old boy & my biggest boy of all my hubby Daniel.

What a lovely Morning!

Well after having a lovely 30mins sleep in this morning. I woke up to find my 2 boys were washed & sitting eating Breaky at the table with hubby.

With my little girl asleep next to me, I thought I'd better get up & get ready. We were all heading off for a walk, ride & scoot down the road to our local Eco Markets in Cooran.

So all 5 of us headed down the road. Me with my little girl in the pram, Hubby on his mountain bike, Kale my 5yr old on his on his scooter, & Andre my 3yr old on his BMX.

We we did our fruit & veggie shopping from our local farmers, grabbed a cuppa from a friend who has her coffee stall there & we then all sat down & had some lunch. We all had some of the local home made Thai Food. Which is just divine! We had a stir fry & hubby being a pig as usual went for seconds but this time had some Sticky rice in banana leaves.

Hubby loves this kind of food as he was bought up in Indonesia for many years with his mum & step dad. Went to school & lived in a local mining community with all the local Indonesians. His step father, still at the age of 70 or so is working as head of one of the mining companies & moves around from one mine to another.

Well anyway we then headed back home to unpack all our goodies. It was a lovely morning out even if it was only for a few years down the road. The kids ran around with the local kids & i bumped into many people i know from around town.

Now I need to get myself organized for my Live Show on Friday Night 12th of June. I hope to see you all there. Between 8pm -9pm. I will have some brilliant prizes to be won & it will be lots of fun so come & join in.

Mum of 2 girls, Millana and Ruby. I wanted to stay at home and look after my girls. Bit of a lost end as to what to do going back to "work" i didn't want to be an enrolled nurse any longer so thought id do what i love doing which is sew! Sew whatever i fancied doing at the time.

Started as a hobby for a year but have opened up since march this year. I am self taught. I have hand sewed since i was about 8yrs old. My grandmother encouraged it. She was very crafty herself and tried everything. lol I sew because i love to and i like the praise i get from it.
Money has never been an issue as to why i did it.

I hope one day to see my clothing or beanies on a celebrity or be in a magazine.. But really just happy that others out there like my work..

Saturday 23th of May

Today i had the my stall at the local country markets at Pomona in the beautiful Hinterland of Noosa.

My plans were to post some great pictures of my stall & many others that are there as well.

It didn't quite go as planned.

The rain came & went & i guess the people did too. They all rain for cover. At one stage there was a beautiful rainbow which appeared right over the mountain & a friend of mine called Robert had his camera & took a few pictures of it.

It was a stunning photo. If only i can get in touch with him before he head up north. His one of those people that can camp just about anywhere yes even up in a tree.

He has many stories & due the day he told me many. Even one about the history on Cooran & the pubs which once stood many years ago.

Well anyway, i did end up making a few sales after all but most importantly i got out of the house & meet more people & had a great day chatting to many locals & i had my kids at home with dad.

So by the end of the day i had had enough & just wanted to get home.

The pictures of our beautiful Markets will be posted next time as my darling hubby forgot to bring the camera anyway & with the clouds & the rain around, the pictures wouldn't have turned out well.

The markets are on every Saturday from 7am til 1pm every 2nd & 4th weeks of the month if anyone is interested. Your sure to find something local or something handmade from jams to bags, from cakes to plants, from jewelry to clothes. So come on down & visit our little town.
